After retiring we wanted to downsize and enjoy quality time together
Yvonne and Bill King | Part Exchange, Retirement/Downsizing
Yvonne and Bill King’s children had grown up and moved away from their family home in Staffordshire, and they decided they wanted to downsize. This fun and active couple wanted to make the move while they were still young enough to enjoy everything that a park home lifestyle offers.
After coming across a Quick Move advert in a magazine, Bill was interested in using the part exchange scheme to avoid the vagaries of the housing market when selling their existing property, but didn’t think it could possibly be as straightforward as it appeared!
We looked into part exchange and liked everything about it, particularly the speed at which a sale could be completed. I was slightly dubious and kept wondering what the catch was. I was aware that it would be below market value but I was pleasantly surprised when an offer was made.
After the King’s met the owners of the park, they were delighted to find out they also live at the park and are always on hand to if anything is needed. The King’s decided to buy a Prestige Sonata II model park home with eco-friendly features, including extra installation, heat pumps, led lighting and a rainwater harvesting system. These features halved the energy bills usually seen in a park home.
With their mind set on the move – peace of mind from the certainty gained was the main benefit of part exchange for the Kings. They knew exactly how much money they were going to get and exactly what date, with no worrying about the sale falling through.
Quick Move Now is the UK’s largest property part exchange company, working with new home builders to offer a quick, secure and hassle-free sale of your existing home to enable you to purchase your new one.
I worked out that although I may have achieved a bit more on the open market, when you take out the £6,000 estate agent fees and the £1,000 solicitor fees that you don't have to pay with Quick Move Properties' part exchange, it suddenly became a relatively small price to pay for all the time, stress and risk we saved.
