Is now the time to look for a quick house sale as discounts increase?

Look for a quick house sale

At certain times of any given year, it can become more difficult for people in the UK to sell their house quickly. During periods such as late summer and the winter months around the festive period, the number of buyers can dry up, and people who are looking to move home can be left sitting waiting for extended periods for a buyer to come along.

This can be particularly problematic for people who have found their dream home or who are relocating to a new place for work, and it can leave the stressful situation where they may well miss out on that new job or the house they’ve always wanted to buy.

For some, this appears to be the situation at the moment, with more people having to discount the price they are selling their property for in December in order to secure a buyer.

According to property portal Zoopla, the number of sellers who are dropping the price of their property has increased to one in three. This has climbed from 27 per cent in February, and is the highest total recorded for the UK property market at any time since August 2012.

The average amount that people are having to discount their home to find a buyer has also increased. Now, the average seller is having to knock 6.7 per cent off the price, amounting to just under £25,000, compared to just 6.3 per cent in February, which was around the £20,000 mark.

Lawrence Hall of Zoopla said:

The property market typically slows in December as buyers postpone their plans until the New Year and become pre-occupied with the festive season, but these figures suggest that sellers may be being forced to rest their expectations and become more realistic in order to secure a buyer. People are well attuned to a bargain at this time of year, so homebuyers may want to capitalise on the latest raft of reductions.

Of course, a great marketplace for buyers does not normally equal a positive situation for sellers, and at times like this, those looking to find someone to purchase their house are often having to wait for long periods or offer large discounts in order to offload their property.

One way to save time, however, is to make a change to your tactics. Instead of putting the property on the market at its actual value and then having to wait a number of months for someone to come along and put an offer in, you may well be better served by a quick house sale.

This gives you the chance to complete your house sale in just seven days from the moment you contact Quick Move Now.

The company will buy your house and help you through the process of selling. It means that you are free to move on with your life and take the next step without being constrained and having to wait months for a buyer to come along.
