This stunning Grade II listed home, offers magnificent views of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The beautiful Grade II listed home is set in 1.6 acres of gardens, dates back to 1680 and offers many attractive period features, including an inglenook fireplace, exposed beams and quarry tiled floors.
The property also offers three reception rooms, four bedrooms, a double garage and separate workshop, and enjoys a great deal of privacy in due to its secluded location.
The quiet location came in handy for its former-owner, actor Sir Patrick Stewart, who until recently used the property as his country getaway to escape the trappings of Hollywood.
Sir Patrick told the Yorkshire Post:
I was fearful of losing myself to Hollywood in the way I’d seen other British stage actors do and I wanted a toehold in England, somewhere to come home to…It was more remote than I envisaged but the views are amazing and it is very private, which has been helpful.
Stewart grew up in Yorkshire and still has family living nearby. He owned the property for 25 years before putting it on the market this summer.
