Home Information Packs (HIPs) - More Changes
With the current dire state of the housing market the last thing we thought the Government would do is to impose yet more burdens on house sellers. Yesterday it announced that from next April, HIPs will need to be in place on the day that a house is put up for sale, rather than within the current 28 days. On top of this, sellers will be required to complete a 6 page Property Information Questionnaire.As we have argued before (HIPs need re-thinking), what started off as a way to improve the house sale process in has ended up increasing red tape, delays and costs for those looking to sell their houses. We call again for the Government to review the whole Home Information Pack system.
